A police officer was shot late at night in front of the Ghosh Para petrol pump in Howrah, triggering panic in the area. The incident took place around 11 PM, leaving locals in shock. The officer, identified as Jayant Pal, sustained a gunshot wound to his hand and was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Howrah for treatment.
Following the shooting, police teams from Bantra and Shibpur police stations arrived at the scene and recovered a bullet shell. The exact circumstances leading to the attack remain unclear, and officials are actively investigating the matter.
